TW Vault Policies
Effective August 26, 2026
1. Scope and Vintage Condition
These policies apply to TW Vault listings, Vault customization work, and Vault-related support. They supplement the site-wide Terms and Privacy Policy, which govern broader matters such as site access, privacy, and general legal terms.
Vintage computers, peripherals, and related hardware are used technology. Cosmetic wear, material aging, period-specific limitations, and reasonable variation are inherent to the category. The individual listing's photos, condition notes, specifications, included accessories, and stated status control for that item.
Unless a listing clearly states that an item is for parts, untested, or otherwise non-functional, TW Vault tests the item before sale and prepares it for ordinary use consistent with the listing. Vintage operating systems and software may have modern security, compatibility, activation, or online-service limitations.
2. Listings, Orders, and Availability
Inventory status, price, specifications, and availability may change before an order is accepted. We may correct a material listing, pricing, availability, or technical-description error and, where appropriate, cancel the affected order and refund the amount paid.
Only the item and accessories expressly stated on the item's detail page are included. Compatibility advice is offered as a courtesy when available; it is not a guarantee that an item will work with a customer's existing equipment, software, adapters, displays, networks, or intended use.
3. Shipping, Delivery, and Transit Damage
Items marked in stock are generally shipped within one business day of purchase. If we cannot ship within the time represented for an order, we will provide the notice, delay option, cancellation option, and refund required by applicable law.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. For international orders, the customer is responsible for any duties, taxes, brokerage fees, import restrictions, and other charges imposed by the destination jurisdiction unless the listing expressly states otherwise.
Please inspect deliveries promptly. If an item arrives damaged, retain the packaging and contact TW Vault with clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label so that we can review the issue and any carrier claim.
4. Returns and Refunds
Returns are accepted for qualifying hardware failure during the applicable warranty period or for shipping damage verified after review. A return authorization from TW Vault is required before sending an item back. We may request troubleshooting information, photos, serial or identifying details, and an opportunity to inspect the returned item.
Returns are not accepted for a change of heart, a customer's intended use, or incompatibility with a customer's existing setup, peripherals, software, display, network, media, or other third-party equipment. These exclusions do not limit remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
For an approved return, TW Vault may repair the item, provide a comparable replacement when available, or issue an appropriate refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method after the return is received and reviewed, subject to applicable law.
5. TW Vault Limited Warranty
Computers. Unless a listing states otherwise, computers sold in non-scrap condition include a six-month TW Vault Limited Warranty from delivery for individual-component or total-device hardware failure under ordinary personal use.
Other hardware. Unless a listing states otherwise, non-computer items sold in non-scrap condition include a 90-day TW Vault Limited Warranty from delivery for device failure under ordinary personal use.
This limited warranty does not cover cosmetic wear, consumables, batteries, software or online-service limitations, data loss, external compatibility, accidental damage, misuse, liquid damage, unauthorized repair or modification, damage caused by a third party, or conditions disclosed in the listing. For a covered claim, TW Vault's remedy may be repair, replacement with a comparable item or component, or refund, at TW Vault's reasonable option.
Items expressly sold as for parts, untested, scrap, or as-is do not receive this limited warranty except where applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing in this policy disclaims or limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be disclaimed or limited. To the extent permitted by law, implied warranties are limited in duration to the applicable limited-warranty period.
6. Customization and Customer-Supplied Items
A custom project intake is a request for a quote, not an acceptance of work. Scope, price, timing, materials, shipping, approvals, and any deposit for a custom project will be confirmed in the applicable quote or invoice before work begins.
For customer-supplied items, the customer is responsible for backing up and removing personal data, accounts, passwords, storage media, and any items not needed for the project before shipment or handoff. Customer-supplied vintage hardware may have undisclosed pre-existing defects or fragile materials; we will communicate any discovered issue before proceeding when reasonably possible.
Custom work is made to the approved scope. Once customization has begun, custom labor, made-to-order components, and personalized work are not returnable except for a verified defect in our work or as otherwise required by law. TW Vault will not perform work that is unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with our content and project policies.
7. Questions and Policy Updates
For a warranty claim, shipping issue, return request, or policy question, contact TW Vault at info@twtech.llc before sending anything back. The version of these Vault Policies in effect when an order is placed generally applies to that order, subject to applicable law and any written terms supplied with a specific purchase or custom project.
